Digital transformation (DTx) refers to the adoption of digital technologies to transform businesses or services. This is accomplished by replacing non-digital or manual processes with digital technologies. DTx is helping many companies develop new and innovative products that incorporate digital technologies (e.g. smart watches and wearable blood pressure monitors). But DTx is also revolutionizing product development processes. For example, digital system prototyping refers to the use of multi-physics, multi-domain, multi-scale computational modeling technology as an integrated element of the product development process. This multidisciplinary approach allows design teams with diverse engineering backgrounds to work in unison to achieve a deep understanding of integrated product behavior before building a single physical prototype. The result is more innovative products with fewer revisions required during development, as well as a reduction in customer complaints (and recalls) after product release. From digital twins to MBSE to regulatory reporting, this presentation will provide an overview of how digital transformation with Ansys technology is accelerating a variety of product and process development in the healthcare industry.
