Materials informatics for data-driven material designing has been attracting attention in many industries. This design approach requires a large amount of materials data that is typically derived from actual materials tests. However, for materials such as composites, which have countless ways to combine materials with limitless design freedom, testing becomes prohibitively expensive and time-consuming. Thus, we propose to use FEM to obtain material properties through virtual material testing performed with Multiscale.Sim. A proper material database management system is also important to efficiently store, manage and utilize large amounts of material data. In this presentation, we will introduce our new interface for Ansys Granta MI, a feature included in the latest release of Multiscale.Sim, along with operational demonstrations and use case examples.
